At the hearing on November 6, 2024, the court ordered Anafina to be placed in pre-trial detention in Astana for allegedly violating the conditions of “probationary control.” In 2023, she had been sentenced to two years of restriction of liberty under Article 379 (“disobedience to a public official”) and Article 380 of the Criminal Code of Kazakhstan (“threat against a public official”). The remaining term of one year and two months of restriction of liberty was replaced with imprisonment. In 2022, she was charged under Article 489 of the Administrative Code of Kazakhstan for campaigning in support of establishing the Alğa, Qazaqstan! party (“Forward, Kazakhstan!”).
